My father steps aside to let Fiona walk in front of him. He says a few things to her, hands her a file, then disappears into his office.
The way he looks at her and the way he talks to her is something I haven’t seen before. It’s tender, which is ridiculous because he’s her boss. Not to mention there’s the gap in status and age between them.
It would be unfathomable for them to have a relationship that’s anything more than professional, but as she walks away, I notice the way she glances back at him. There’s something going on here, and I don’t like it one bit.
