Charlotte’s POV It was another warm, sunny Saturday, and Nora was excited to get outside so she could sketch more insects. I helped her get dressed in her overalls and a light sweater underneath, as there was a cool breeze, and then we headed outside right after breakfast. While Nora ran ahead, already swishing her net through the air, I carried the picnic blanket over to a shady area nearby and laid it out. I’d prepared some lemonade, sandwiches, fruit, and cookies for a picnic, and brought a book for myself. “Stay close,” I called out as I set everything up. Nora gave me a thumbs-up to indicate that she’d heard me; she was already crouching in the grass, trying to creep up on something she must have seen.
