Jason’s POV
“Sophia, what happened?” Kieran’s eyes widened. “She’s missing? Where was she last seen? Holy s**t. Okay, I’m on my way.”
My stomach dropped to the floor as Kieran said those words. I stood there, frozen, watching him go.
Sophia had called him and told him Nora was missing.
How could I have been so stupid?
“Where are you?”
I mindlinked my Beta as I turned, rushing out of the room. A moment later, my Beta replied: “In the forest with the kid, like you asked. Why?”
“Abort the mission. Kieran is coming.”
I could feel my Beta’s shock through the pack bond, mirroring my own. Sophia had promised that the plan would be simple: a fake kidnapping, a little fear instilled in the heart of the girl who would be neatly left behind in a safe location in the woods
