His face looked thoughtful, not frustrated just thoughtful. “I found something.” Casey said. “What now?” Blade asked turning around and Casey held up a brass shell casing. “Most people would’ve missed it.” Casey said. He rotated the evidence bag beneath the sunlight and the casing looked ordinary until Casey pointed toward a tiny engraving near the base. My stomach tightened because someone had deliberately marked it. Blade took the bag and his expression changed immediately. “What?” I asked. “You recognize it?” Casey frowned. Blade didn’t answer immediately and instead he kept staring at the tiny symbol. Then he looked toward the empty hillside where the sniper had escaped and his jaw tightened. “I know this mark.” Blade said. “From where?” Drake asked folding his arms.
