The second we pulled up outside Miller’s Bar, I knew something was wrong and not just because half the town seemed to be standing behind police tape. Red and blue lights flashed across the dark street and patrol cars crowded the parking lot while deputies moved around the area with grim expressions. The body was still there. Covered now but still there. Blade climbed off his bike and looked around before turning to everyone. “Nobody says a damn word to anyone unless Casey clears it first and nobody touches anything.” Blade said. Nobody argued because we didn’t need to. The mood was already bad enough. So I climbed off behind Drake and immediately felt his hand settle against my lower back while we walked toward the crowd. “You’re doing it again.” I said. “What?” He asked.
