Vanessa stared at him and then at me before she looked back at him. For a second I thought she might refuse but she eventually stormed outside instead. The door slammed hard enough to rattle windows and nobody followed. The meeting dissolved shortly afterward. Mostly because nobody wanted to keep talking after that. Outside the clubhouse the atmosphere felt strangely lighter. Like a storm had finally past. At least temporarily. I stepped onto the porch and immediately found Finn sitting on the railing while he looked amused. “That was fun.” Finn said and I rolled my eyes. “You have issues.” I said. “Probably. For what it’s worth, you were right.” He said. “About what?” I asked. “People.” He said. The answer surprised me and Finn shrugged. “They trust you.” He said.
