“You said she protected children.” I added.
“I did.” Raze said.
“Were they all selected?” I asked and he nodded.
“Some were already inside the program. Others were identified before they disappeared.” Raze said.
“And me?” I asked making his expression soften slightly.
“You were different.” Raze said.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because the program couldn’t control you.” He said.
I hated hearing those words. Not because they were new but because they kept appearing everywhere. In reports, videos, files and now him.
It was becoming impossible to dismiss and Drake still looked unconvinced.
“Anybody can say that.” Drake said.
“I know.” Raze said.
Raze slowly reached into his jacket and Drake immediately lifted his weapon.
