I stood in the hallway outside the main room while voices carried through the partially closed door and the second I heard Drake raise his voice. I knew the conversation inside was already going badly. Very badly. The file Drake found the night before sat open on the table between him and Blade and neither man looked remotely interested in backing down. “You should’ve told us.” Drake said. Blade leaned back in his chair while exhaustion lined every inch of his face. “Told you what exactly?” Blade asked. That your name was connected to one of Raze’s old networks.” Drake said and Blade’s jaw tightened. “It wasn’t Raze’s network when I dealt with them.” Blade said. The silence that followed felt heavy. Dangerous. I stepped inside just as Brax entered from the opposite doorway.
