Lucas told me to pack a small bag on Friday afternoon and said it was a surprise. He wouldn't tell me where we were going no matter how much I asked. He just smiled and said to trust him, we got in his car and drove for a couple hours along the coast. The ocean was on one side the whole way and it looked pretty even from the window.
We turned off the main road and went down a private driveway to a small villa right by the water. It was just one house all alone with no one else around. He parked and got our bags while I looked at the view. The ocean was close and I could hear the waves.
"This place is for us the whole weekend" he said carrying the bags inside. "No work no phones just you and me."
