We reached the portal, and an overwhelming sense of stress hit me. The car came to a stop on the road, and it was Kage who pulled me out while Nate distanced himself to greet Susie after inadvertently hurting her feelings. However, I noticed she avoided him, making sure to stand far away. It was bound to happen after he ignored her and slid into the car with me.
“What are we going to do now?” Lord Ferrin questioned, shooting me a disgusted glare. They clearly held me responsible for the situation.
“We'll take her to the portal and leave her for them to attack,” Kage announced, showing no concern that I might get harmed.
“What makes you think they'll kill her and not capture her to make demands from us?” Susie placed her hands on her waist, questioning Kage's plan.
