“Took you so long.”
My voice came out calm, almost teasing, even though my heart was hammering against my ribs. Nicholas stood in the doorway like a storm about to break. His eyes were dark, deadly, and locked on Alpha Jackson with pure rage. The air in the abandoned house grew thick and heavy, like the whole room was holding its breath.
Alpha Jackson froze.
