“Alexi, I need to go with him,” I said. I was already on the phone with his mother as Dean was being loaded into the ambulance.
“Go, baby, I have to take care of Even. I’ll see you later. Don’t worry yourself sick. Remember the baby. I’m sending Lorena and your guards with you.”
“Okay, I love you,” I said, kissing him.
I watched Alexi walk away before the doors closed on the ambulance. I’ve never seen him with that look in his eye before. He was enraged. I had been torn between staying and going, but Dean begged me to be with him. I thanked my lucky stars that Alexi agreed to let me go. I gave Mrs. Marcel the information, told her Dean was conscious, and that the paramedics were working on him. I promised I wouldn’t leave him until she got there.
“I’m going to die,” Dean said
