The house was silent. Too silent. Without the boys’ heavy footsteps or Rain’s loud laughter, the walls felt like they were closing in. My phone was gone, Black had taken it, and I felt disconnected from the world. I tried to watch a movie, but I couldn't focus. My mind kept wandering.
In a space of minutes, I found myself standing in Rex’s bedroom. It smelled like him.
My eyes landed on the secret bookshelf. I knew what was behind it. The basement. The place where the light didn't reach.
I felt a pull of curiosity. The last time I was down there, I was a prisoner of pleasure. I had been chained, my senses overwhelmed by the things they did to me.
