After my call with Freya, I decided to get out of the palace for a bit. The walls were starting to feel like they were closing in on me. I needed fresh air. I needed to feel normal again.
I changed into a simple pair of jeans and a t shirt and headed out. I told the guards I was going for a walk and that I didn't need an escort. They were hesitant, but I insisted.
I ended up at the stables where beautiful horses were. I saw a groom brushing a beautiful black stallion.
"Hello," I said, approaching him.
"Your Majesty," He said, bowing his head. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"I was just hoping to go for a ride," I said. "Is that possible?"
"Of course," He said, a warm smile on his face. "Let me get Shadow ready for you. He's the gentlest of the bunch."
