Jax POV:
At Milas six words, a red-hot fury ignites within, burning through my veins like wildfire. me while Zeus howls in my mind, his pain mirroring my own.
“Kill you” I hear my mate gasp in shock as we all stare at Mila. My body begins to shake with rage, but before I can act, Nova moves closer, tucking her head against my chest. The warmth of her presence sends a wave of calmness down our bond, easing the tension in my muscles. I instinctually tighten my arms around her, grounding myself.
“Why?” I bark, frustration lacing my voice. Seeing Mila flinch slightly, then catching the warning glance Nova shoots my way, I continue more gently. Softening my tone “I’m sorry Mila, I’m just angry, not at you. Although I really wish you hadn’t put yourself in that position” I admit.
