Aurora's POV
"Hey, Amy, you okay?" I grabbed her hand, a lump rising in my throat. "How're you feeling now?"
"So much better," Amy answered.
Color was gradually returning to her once-ashen face. And her eyes, which had been dim and lackluster before, now sparkled with renewed vitality.
"You and Lilith saved my butt," Amy said with a smile.
"No, Amy, that rogue wolf was after me." I felt my eyes start to burn as the guilt and sorrow came rushing back. "You got into this mess because of me."
"Don't say that, Aurora." Amy gave my hand a gentle squeeze. "We're BFFs, thick as thieves, always together."
"Hey, don't leave me out! I'm your bestie too!" Linda's voice cracked from over there, her eyes all wet with happy tears. "Amy, you're finally awake!"
