Selena’s POV
The engagement party was finally over and the Hall was finally empty and the castle was quiet.
I sat on the edge my bed and pulled the blankets up over my children.
"Mommy?" Leo whispered softly, his eyes looking up at me in the dark.
"Yes, my brave little wolf?" I answered, reaching out to gently stroke his hair.
"When is Daddy coming back?" He asked and his sweet, innocent voice sounded sad. "It's been a really long time. Did he beat the bad guys yet? I want him to come see my new room."
Lilian opened her sleepy eyes and nodded. "I miss Daddy."
A heavy stone dropped right into the bottom of my stomach and l had to force myself to smile and push the tears down deep inside my throat so I wouldn't cry in front of them.
