I sat on the couch in the living room and looked out the window. Elias was walking across his lawn toward our house. I smiled and stood up.
Mom looked over from where she was sitting with Dad. "Is that Elias?"
"Yeah," I said. "He said he was coming over."
Dad nodded. "Jackson and Luca are on their way too, right?"
"They should be here soon," I said.
The doorbell rang. I went to open it. Elias stood there with a smile on his face.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," I said. "Come in."
He walked inside and greeted my parents. Caleb was upstairs but came down when he heard voices.
