"And the people who helped her?" I pushed, getting annoyed.
Mal clenched his jaw for a moment.
"We got one of them. The others were from respected families. Families in politics. They were too protected for me to do anything," he said.
I scoffed, but didn't say anything. It's not like I have the power to do anything either.
"What about the proof she had?" I asked.
"Ryan was able to get it all and erase it," he mumbled. "He told me in an email. He knew that I would hunt Cara down if things ever got out to the public. He apologized a lot. "
