"It's going to be okay, Pierce," Kieran said as we watched Otti join her mom and brother in her father's hospital room.
"You don't understand," I muttered.
"Even Colleen agreed that none of this was your fault," he continued on. "You should trust that she knows her husband. She said it sounded like he knew you were being forced. Sounded that way to me too when you told me. He's not a bad guy, Pierce. Can't be. No way a light as bright as Otti came from anyone bad."
I sighed as I kept my eyes on Otti. I feel so tired. Mentally more than physically.
