The sky was getting dark when Zane and Kai arrived back at the pack house to pick me up. He walked into my mom's room and had a few words with the buses, before telling them to excuse us.
"How're you feeling, Mrs. Campbell?" Zane said, watching as Kai walked up to his grandma and she pulled him into her arms.
I don't think my mom and Zane ha ever spoken personally, so the fact that he was speaking to her and calling her by her name was a big surprise.
"Better, thank you. I'm sorry for all the trouble I must have caused you." She said, signaling to the treatment machines.
