I hate that I want you

CHAPTER 11 Malrik's POV "This way," One of the guards said, leading me through the palace gardens. "Can't you walk properly?" He asked, pushing me roughly. My jaw clenched. I jerked from his grip, almost getting free from him but the guard caught me again. Lyra's body was delicate, the guards could easily get hold of me. "How could the witch's body be this weak?" My wolf roared in anger. "What do you think you're doing?" The guard asked, glaring at me. How could such a guard look down on me? That was such an humiliation, if only he knew who was standing before him. I bit my lower lip hard. I didn't blame them, I blamed the damn curse. "You'd better stay still." The guard said, leading me through the garden. As we passed through a secluded grove, four guards surrounded us. They were there, aware that we were passing the route. The guard and I stepped back when one of them drew his sword at me. "What is this for?" I demanded. The witch in my body had clearly stated that they let me be. Since when did they start ignoring my orders? "Nothing personal." The one who pointed the sword answered. "But the kingdom needs you gone." He added and made an attack but I stepped back, barely dodging the sword. Two more guards rushed in to join him, charging directly at me like they had a chance. I saw it coming, I could see through their move. They were going to leap. Fools. I slid back smoothly, allowing them to soar past me and crash to the ground. Their swords clatter uselessly against the floor. They gasped, shocked by how fast I moved. I caught the look they exchanged, hesitant to attack again. They were no match for me but in Lyra's body, I couldn't tell that much. The first one rejoined them, and all three came at me at once, blades raised, thinking they could overwhelm me. I met their attack head-on, using Lyra’s agility to match them. They were fast, but not fast enough. Still, four against one doesn’t play fair in Lyra's body. I caught all their swords at once, blocking them with all force but one of them slipped past me. His blade sliced across my arm, blood bloomed. I gritted my teeth, not from the pain, but from the insult. Just as a guard raises his sword for the kill, a massive form tackles him. He fell to the floor, rolling to the other side. Lyra. She glared in body at the guard, groaning on the floor. There was anger in her eyes as she tears through the attackers. "How could you?" She growled, grabbing one guard. She snapped the guard's neck, throws another away. Bewildered. The guards stepped back in horror. "Who is next among you?'" She growled. The remaining guards flee, terrified. She made to run after them but I stopped her. "That's enough," I cautioned and she stopped. She turned back, rushed to me and dropped to her knees beside me. "Are you hurt?" She asked worriedly, touching me in search of any injury. "Where did they cut you?" She asked as she peeled back the sleeve. "I'm fine," I hissed. "I've had worse." I added, taking her hands from my arm. I made her stand when she spoke again. "This is my fault." Her jaw clenched. "They're trying to kill you because of me." She added. She tears fabric from her robe and wraps it around my arm. Her hand brushed through my skin, causing a vibration. Her hands were gentle as they stayed in that position. She stared at my wounded arm while I watched her. She did nothing wrong, instead. "You saved me," I said, pointing that out. "Of course I did," Lyra muttered. "I need you alive." She said, meeting eyes with me. She stood still and I reached up to her, cupping her face. "Is that the only reason?" I questioned and stared back, her breath catching. "Malrik–" I pulled her down, interrupting her with my mouth crashing against hers. I pulled her closer, kissing her hard. She let out a soft, very erotic sound. Her lips parted and I slid my touch in her mouth. The world spinned as I felt her breasts press against my chest. I was back in my body. The heat made my c**k come alive, it ragged harder. I growled, pinning her. Every time we touch, it's like I lose my mind. I didn’t mean to but I found myself doing more than I had ever done before. This witch was driving me more with want. My hand slides under her shirt, cupping her breast. "I hate that I want you." I rumbled, sucking her lips like I had been starved. "I hate it too," Lyra arches and I disengaged from the kiss, kissing down her neck, biting. "Liar." She added. I buried my head on her neck, not moving until we heard the echo of Voices nearby. I sensed more guards searching. I pulled away from her and I could feel my breast hitch. I was back in Lyra's body. She opened her eyes that instant and pulled back too. "Damn." She cursed. "We need to get back." She rushed, standing to leave and I nodded, adjusting my sleeve. "Agreed." I said. "But first," I paused for her to turn back. "What's that?" She asked and I stepped closer to her, covering the distance between us. "We need to talk about your plan," I said. Lyra frowned. "What plan?" She questioned, feigning ignorance. This witch still thinks she could plan behind me. I could see through all her plans. "Whatever you're plotting, I can see it," I explained and she stared back. " It involves my council," I added and her eyes widened. Surprised? I expected that. She had no clue I had found out. We both returned to the suite, she walked to the mirror in the room while I paced around the room. Awaiting her response. "Talk," I demanded after a moment of silence. The silence was pissing me off. She sighed, turning back to me. "The council is trying to kill us." She muttered and I raised a brow, still pacing around the room. "Both of us. We need to do something." She muttered, impatiently. I stopped. "Like what?" Her gaze met my eyes as I watched her step closer to me. "I don't know yet." She muttered. "But sitting here waiting to die isn't an option." She added but I didn't utter any word. I stood watching her while she stared back. My eyes traced hers as she blinked at intervals, she pressed her lips and she stared at me not uttering a word. She was right, the council was not a completely loyal body. Presently, they could do anything to bring me down with the present state of the kingdom. "The council is corrupt," I agreed. "They've always been. But they maintain order." I added but she spoke up. "Maybe order isn't what this kingdom needs." She replied and I faced her properly. She was certain about her suspicion. I agreed with her. Maybe the kingdom didn't truly need orders only, it needed a change and the change could only if the things are turned. I nodded, staring at Lyra as I walked to the bed. I sank onto the bed, resting my head on my hands as stated at her. We exchanged glances but she seemed lost, She stood staring for a moment. I sensed she wouldn't speak soon and I did. "Whatever you're planning, don't do anything without telling me first." I warned and she smiled. She stepped closer and nodded but she didn't look cool with the stares. She had something on her mind, what was she plotting? She'd better have a better plan or I make her pay if this also gets ruined.
