Before I could continue, Victor spoke.
"Actually," he said, "I know what it's about. The invitation explained it."
I looked at him sharply. "It did?"
"Yes," he nodded. "The werewolf king is holding a celebration. In honour of the werewolf princess."
My heart stopped.
"The princess?" I managed, keeping my voice carefully neutral.
"Apparently she has taken control of the Moon Realm pack," Victor continued. "You know, that territory that's been completely overrun by rogues for years? She managed to bring order to it. Quite an accomplishment, from what I understand."
