I blinked hard, trying to clear my vision. When I finally focused, I saw that it was Dimitri who had slapped me.
Victor's father stood in front of me, his face twisted with rage. His eyes blazed with an anger so intense it made the air around him feel hot.
"You did this!" he shouted, pointing an accusatory finger at me. "My son is on his deathbed because of you!"
"That's not true," I retorted, my voice shaking but stern.
"Isn't it?" he spat. "Victor was fine until you came into his life. Fine until he got involved with an Omega who doesn't know her place. And now he's in there fighting for his life because he had to save you!"
