Mira   “He’s been searching for me for two hours?” I said, voice hiking up in pitch with every word.   The guard didn’t say anything. He wasn’t as good at hiding his emotions as Valen was, though. The annoyance was clear.   “How’s he been?’ I asked slowly. The guard blinked even slower at me.   Right. That had been a stupid question.   “I’m sorry,” I said, standing up and brushing myself off. “I must’ve dozed off while I was sleeping.
