The next day, I woke up early, got myself ready, and headed out to visit Megan.
This time I entered the gated community on my own without bothering Megan to come out and meet me.
"Viya, happy holiday!" Megan exclaimed when she saw me at her door with several bags of health supplements. "Oh my, you didn't need to bring so many gifts. I just invited you over for a meal!"
"It's only proper," I smiled.
As I stepped into the entryway to change my shoes, I caught a glimpse of a familiar pair of leather shoes when Megan opened the shoe cabinet. They were from an expensive handcrafted brand.
Very pricey.
Caesar owned shoes from the same brand, and I was pretty sure he'd been wearing this exact style yesterday.
