Ava’s POV
“We need to move again.”
Morgan was already nodding.
“Agreed.”
Diego looked between us.
“No.”
I turned toward him.
“We're not leaving you.”
“I don't want to go again.”
His voice was small.
Exhausted.
He'd been kidnapped, hidden, dragged between locations.
Watched his uncle get shot, then shoved into a vehicle with me while bullets flew behind us.
Now his stomach hurt badly enough that he guarded when Tootsie touched him.
