The thought wouldn't leave me.
I looked at the people inside the vehicle.
Morgan.
Tootsie.
Diego.
The driver.
True wasn't with us. She was coordinating the decoy route and the second security team.
Dr. Castillo had stayed behind.
Gage had never been at the medical facility.
There weren't many possibilities.
Morgan glanced back.
“You're doing it again.”
“What?”
“Thinking loud without actually talking.”
I frowned.
“That's not a thing.”
“With you, it is.”
Tootsie snorted.
Diego opened one sleepy eye.
I lowered my voice.
“They knew too fast.”
Morgan's expression changed.
“I know.”
“Before we start accusing anybody—”
“We aren't.”
“Good.”
“Doesn't mean I'm not checking.”
