(Caroline's POV) Jason's house is beautiful. Modern but warm, with huge windows and an open floor plan that Charlie loves because he can see from room to room without losing sight of me. Rose is beside herself with excitement. She and Charlie immediately claim the playroom as their shared kingdom, and within days they've organized every toy by color and size. "Now that we're living together, they're going to be insufferable," Jason says, watching them through the doorway. "Completely," I agree, grinning. That night, after both kids are asleep, Jason and I sit on the couch with glasses of wine, just breathing in the reality of it. This is my life now. This house, this man, our children. It feels perfect and terrifying all at once. "Happy?" Jason asks, his arm around my shoulders.
