I woke up and saw that I had missed a couple of calls from my mama and sisters. I had slept for longer than I intended to.
Pushing aside the duvet, I climbed out of the bed and made my way to the bathroom. After a couple of minutes, I was done getting dressed and ready to leave.
I grabbed my keys from the table and headed downstairs.
“Are you going out?” Maria asked me when I got to the living room. “Isn’t your injury hurting you? Don’t you need to rest?”
I knew her questions were from a place of genuine concern but I wasn’t in the mood to answer all her questions.
“I’m fine.” I lied.
My injuries were still hurting but I could manage. Plus, I didn’t want her to worry about me or try to convince me to stay at home.
“Is Lorenzo awake now?” I ask
