Hunter’s POV I walked slowly down the hallway after the Gamma captain. He kept glancing over his shoulder at me and slowing down, then speeding back up again. He seemed to hope that when he did that, I would follow his lead and walk more quickly. But I didn’t give a s**t what he wanted. He was right that there shouldn’t be any delays before we started with the interrogation. But I needed some time to think—to get my head right. I wasn’t going to move any more quickly than I wanted to. “My car’s in the garage,” he said when we were in the elevator and I pressed the lobby button. He clicked the G for the underground garage. “I’ll drive myself,” I said, clipped.
