After a while, Sean stepped into the room. “Why did you come back so soon?” He asked, his eyes fixed on me.
I rubbed my neck. “Nothing…” I lied. I still didn’t want to talk to him about it. “What are you doing here?” I demanded, folding my arms around my chest.
He took a step forward, closing the distance between us. “I just came here to check up on you,” he muttered. “Did something happen with Conrad? Did he try to do anything stupid?”
I shook my head. “No,” I responded and took a step back. But Sean took another step forward.
My heart pounded in my chest.
