“This conversation is over, Conrad.”
As soon as I said that, I made my way out of the house. He tried to stop me from leaving but I ignored him.
I couldn’t spend another second at Selena’s house. I still found it hard to believe that she would do something like that to me.
I found her tears really manipulative, and they didn’t even move me. She had to own up to what she did and apologize like an adult.
The worst part was that she didn’t hesitate to leave when Conrad asked for privacy. It was as if she had been looking for an opportunity to escape the awkward situation.
“So you really want to ditch your best friend on her birthday? What about everything you have planned?” Conrad’s voice echoed through the compound as I was about to step into the car.
