I slept through the entire ride over to Selena’s house. When we finally got to her house, one of the guards sitting at the back woke me up.
I let out a yawn and sat upright.
But I didn’t step out of the car immediately. I brought out my makeup and fixed my face because I looked disoriented.
Then I grabbed my bag and also the present I’d gotten for Selena. It was only then that I stepped out of the car.
Just as I was about to take a step forward, I saw Conrad standing at the front door.
My stomach twisted.
What was he doing there?
Did Selena set me up?
Did she just invite me over so Conrad would see me?
I was fuming with rage but I forced myself to stay calm. I let out a deep breath and walked to the front door.
