Eve didn’t want to open up to me at first, but I could sense that something was wrong. I pressured her to talk to me. It took a while before she finally told me the truth.
She accidentally revealed to Zoey that my mother was dead. But tried to cover it up immediately.
I didn’t think Zoey bought the lie.
Zoey started acting weird because she felt betrayed that we were lying to her. She didn’t say anything.
When I first met Zoey, I told her I needed her to act like my pretend mate just to please my sick mom.
