Kane’s POV
I watched with careful eyes as Olivia’s face blanched from my sudden question. For a woman who barely ever took her eyes off of me, she was rather quick to let her gaze drop to the floor.
Why couldn’t she look at me?
It wasn’t as though she hadn’t told me this exact answer before. This was a test. Now that I knew the truth, I was genuinely hoping to get that same answer from Olivia.
Another moment of silence passed.
“Olivia, how exactly did your husband die?”
“Why are you asking me this?” she questioned quietly.
I was quick on my toes to let out a little white lie to cover my tracks. “It’s mainly for Henri’s sake. The poor guy has been running ragged on his data sheets. And as of right now, there is no found record of Richard Gravens in his system.”
