I was worried about Evelyn. In fact, I have been concerned over a lot of things lately.
While I was glad she was able to make our meeting with the king, I wasn’t glad to see her in such a weakened, frail state. No matter how she claimed to be okay, I knew that there had to be more to this situation.
Was it because of her growing Alpha? Was it due to the fact that she and I were no longer living together? Or was it something else entirely?
I wanted to press her for more information, but I didn’t want to add any further stress to her. My concern for her well-being was pushed to its limits as the days went on.
