Three years?!
My mouth fell open in sheer shock. I unconsciously grabbed Kane’s hand. He looked as though he misheard the king.
“What?” he hissed.
“Your Majesty, are you certain that Richard Graven has been dead for that long?” I asked.
The older man glanced between Kane and me with a look of bewilderment. Yet he nodded his head with complete assurance. “I am entirely certain. But what on earth has the two of you so shaken about this? And why bring up Richard?”
Kane squeezed my hand in his. “Please, it’s imperative that we know the complete truth of this situation.”
The king raised a pointed brow. “I am telling you the truth. Richard Gravens has been dead these past few years.”
“Kane, if that’s the case, then why on earth did Olivia lie?” I asked him.
