My heart dropped to the floor as a wave of fear and underlying nausea filled my insides. I couldn’t believe it. How?? Why?!
“Not again,” I gasped under my breath.
I took off like a bolt of lightning down the hallway. I ignored Alexander’s call after me and hauled it down to the lower level of the house. I must have looked like an absolute mad woman. I didn’t care.
