Evelyn’s POV
This morning, I woke up feeling the most rested I’ve been in days. I gently rubbed my eyes and tried to roll out from under the covers.
However, something held me back. I glanced down to find Kane's arm wrapped around my waist. He let out a low rumble, causing a small smile to pull at my lips.
It seemed like it had been forever since he and I woke up in such a manner. These last several days had me feeling like we were living in two separate time zones. I was used to going to sleep alone and waking up alone.
I missed this. I missed him.
I dropped my hand down to his arm, trying to pull myself free. Kane was not too keen on letting me go, it seemed. His arm tightened around me like a vise.
“Stay,” he grumbled low.
“I have to get up so I can get ready for the day,”
