Evelyn’s POV That night, after Kane and I showered, the two of us were lying in bed. I embraced the feeling of his arm wrapped securely around my waist. “You know, there actually was a reason why I came to find you earlier,” I said with a light chuckle. Kane turned to look at me. “Tell me.” I fiddled with the hem of my sleep shirt. “Today at lunch, Diana and Josie talked me into going into town tomorrow for a girls’ day. We’re hoping to find the dresses we want to wear to the formal.” “That sounds like fun,” he said. “Would you be opposed to color-coordinating our attire?” I asked him shyly. I hesitated to glance over at him to see what his reaction was. I half-anticipated Kane to laugh at the idea or reject it flat out. “Okay.” My brows shot up, clearly shocked. “Really?”
