The battlefield was chaos. Wolves tore into each other, shadows slithered across the stones like living nightmares, and the castle walls shook from the force of the fight. Blood soaked the ground beneath my feet. The air stank of death and smoke.
I clawed my way through Caleb’s shadow beasts, slashing and kicking, my body screaming in pain. My chest burned with every breath, but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t.
