I looked at the tall, imposing, unknown man filling the doorway, and my nerves prickled as I sensed a shift in the air around me.
Beast smiled and walked over to the man, introducing him as the Alpha King before shaking his hand. "You wasted no time at all, did you, Alpha?" Beast said.
The Alpha King responded to Beast's comment with a nod back. He said, "There is another reason that I've come. I informed the Council, but I suspect they have reached out to you about it."
Shifting his focus, the Alpha King turned to Wolf, whose jaw was clenched and eyes narrowed, the tension between them palpable.
"Wolf, I thought we were past this." The Alpha King sighed, his frustration visible as his shoulders slumped.
