Nixx stood beside Benny with one hand still resting near the back of his neck from the kiss, while Benny stared at me like I had just announced gravity was optional.
Finally, Benny found his voice.
“How the f**k is this not complicated?”
I walked into the living room and lowered myself onto the couch. “Because you’re making it complicated.”
“That cleared up absolutely nothing.”
Nixx looked slightly less panicked, but only slightly. “Explain.”
I patted the couch beside me. “Both of you sit down before Millie wakes up and comes downstairs wondering why three adults are having a crisis in the dark.”
