“Regarding the request to dissolve the protection order as it pertains to Ms. Harper, that request is denied.”
For a second, I wasn’t sure I had heard the judge correctly.
Then Marissa’s hand closed lightly over mine beneath the table, and some of the pressure in my chest finally loosened.
“The court is extending the order as to Ms. Harper,” the judge continued. “The evidence presented supports continued protection.”
Across the room, Havoc’s jaw tightened. One hand curled against the edge of the table before his attorney leaned toward him and whispered something I couldn’t hear.
Then the attorney stood.
