I woke up and reached for Ridge before my eyes were open.
Cold space.
I sat up slowly and looked around the room. His side of the bed was empty. His boots were gone from where he always left them. I sat there for a moment and decided I wasn't going to panic about it.
I trusted him.
That was enough.
A knock came at the door before I could get up.
"Come in," I said.
Claire opened the door first. Cassidy was behind her. Harlow behind Cassidy with her hair already done.
"We came to check on you," Claire said.
"How do you feel?" Cassidy said.
"Better than yesterday," I said. "Really."
Claire handed me my vitamins and a glass of water. I took them.
