I pulled Mira back down. Held her close.
I meant every word.
I wasn't losing either of them.
And if Tyler tried anything, he'd find out exactly what happened when someone went after my family.
We lay there for a while. Not talking. Just being together.
Then there was a knock on the door.
I got up. Got dressed. Went to answer it.
Dane was standing there.
"Yeah?"
"Kane's here. From the Savage Kings. Says he needs to talk to you about something important."
I looked back at the bedroom. Mira was getting dressed.
"Where is he?"
"Main building. Common room."
"Alright. Tell him I'll be there in five."
Dane left.
I went back to the bedroom. Mira was pulling on her shirt.
"Who was that?" she asked.
"Dane. Club business. I need to go handle something."
