I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up enough to last us several days. Before heading to the register, I grabbed the cookies Cassidy liked and added them to the cart. I knew she'd find them before most of the groceries were put away. She always did.
After loading everything into the truck, I made one more stop. I picked up dinner from one of Cassidy's favorite places and put the bag on the passenger seat. It had been a long couple of days for both of us. Eating together at home sounded good.
