I stayed on the couch with Cassidy until a motorcycle pulled into the driveway. She raised her head and looked toward the front window. I recognized Knox before he even got off his bike. I already knew Ridge had sent him.
Cassidy looked at me.
"Do you have to go?"
"I don't know yet."
She sat up as someone knocked on the front door. I got up and crossed the living room. Cassidy stayed on the couch while I opened it. Knox stood outside with his helmet in one hand.
"Prez wants you at the compound."
I glanced toward the bikes outside. Jace was still across the street, and another brother remained near the house. Cassidy wouldn't be alone while I was gone. That made leaving easier.
