Being at the Academy has been very eye-opening for me. There is so much that I didn’t know about dragons or any of the other factions. King Yhendorn was right about the elves coming to the Academy. There’s so much you can’t or won’t know unless you live among the dragons.
And one thing that I’ve learned is that dragons love being around their mates. All the time. Laiken never leaves my side. Never. It’s not as domineering as it sounds. Having him around me makes me feel protected and safe. Starting at the Academy was very intimidating for me, especially given the history of my family. Kaylani and Dr. Everett put me on probation, basically saying that if I didn’t follow the rules, I was out. I would be given no second chances.
